Visit the art cities of Tuscany
That which allows this elegant boutique hotel in Versilia to truly be the ideal choice is its proximity to the small and large art cities of Tuscany.
In just fifteen minutes by car, we reach Pietrasanta, the capital of Versilia, with a historical city centre full of architectural and artistic beauties, such as the Duomo di San Martino (Pietrasanta Cathedral), built in Romanesque-Gothic style, the Church of Sant’Agostino and that of Sant’Antonio Abate, the Civic Tower or the Torre delle Ore. Half-an-hour away is Camaiore which, alongside beautiful landscapes, offers noteworthy civil and religious architecture including the Badia di Camaiore, the Pieve di Santo Stefano, the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Assunta, the Teatro Dell’Olivo, and the Villa Borbone delle Pianore.
In the same amount of time, you can reach Lucca, the historical city par excellence, with its treasured historic centre enclosed by a marvellous surrounding wall from the 15th-17th centuries that remains mostly intact in all its splendour.
Therein lie architectural masterpieces of inestimable value to be explored amongst the many medieval churches (with Lucca being known as the “City of 100 churches”), the Renaissance palaces, monuments, towers, bell towers and piazzas. Reachable in a similar amount of time is Pisa, with its Piazza del Duomo or Square of Miracles, so named for the presence of the cathedral in Pisan Romanesque style and its famous 12th-century bell tower, the symbol of the city known around the world.
